BEAUMONT WOODS PLACE 3225
The modern three-story building is nestled into a steep challenging hill site overlooking Manoa Valley and the Oceanfront. The layout of the main floor takes advantage of these spectacular views with its strategically placed corner windows and interspersed trellised lanais connecting the inside with the outside. The sequenced windows moreover create long view planes across the whole depth of the building visually dramatically expanding the small footprint of 30’x30′. The innovative application of an elastomeric membrane accomplishes the unified appearance of the house while its dark green tint together with the dark anodized window frames allow the volume to melt with the green backdrop, creating space instead of contrast. The structure is naturally ventilated taking advantage of existing wind patterns and the interior finishes are simple yet elegant. The oiled solid oak flooring, VOC-free paints, high quality hardware from Switzerland contribute to a healthy living environment and will all age gracefully.
